Resources and support services for patients

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women, with one in eight women diagnosed with the disease before they turn 85.*

And each woman deals with breast cancer differently. No woman ever thinks they'll hear the words "you have cancer", but when it does, Mater Chicks in Pink is there to help.

Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are currently undergoing treatment or have previously had treatment for breast cancer, Mater Chicks in Pink offers a range of support services for you:

Mater Private Breast Cancer Centres at both Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Mater Private Hospital Redland as well as Mater Public offers a professional, personal service for women with breast cancer, disorders and problems of the breast.

Assessment, investigation and treatment is delivered through a multidisciplinary team which includes breast surgeons, specialist breast care nurses, medical and radiation oncologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons as well as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and nutritionists.

Both Mater Public and Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre also provides a range of free support programs designed to enhance the lives of women with breast cancer.

These services are provided through funding from Mater Chicks in Pink—thanks to your support.
